If you become pregnant, you should fill in a “Notification of Pregnancy” and receive Mother-Child Record Book (Boshi Kenko Techo). The notification of pregnancy will require your planned birth date, and the name of the hospital that confirmed your pregnancy.

Mother-Child Record Book (Boshi Kenko Techo) contains a record of the health of both the mother and child. This handbook should be taken with you when you go for prenatal checkups, baby/toddler checkups, and vaccinations.

You can also receive vouchers for prenatal care fee support (vouchers that can be used when you pay for medical examinations from when you are first declared pregnant) and free dental health checkups.

Children will have their checkups at a Health Center at the age of 4 months, 1.5 years, and 3 years. From the age of 10 months they can have free examinations at hospitals. Those who are eligible will receive notification by mail.

Vaccinations for babies and toddlers such as the polio vaccine and the BCG vaccine, can be received free of charge at hospitals that offer vaccinations throughout the city. Please ask the Health Center for ages at which vaccinations should be received and numbers of vaccinations required, as well as for information on hospitals that offer vaccinations.

妊娠したら保健センターで「妊娠届出書」を書いて、「母子健康手帳」を受け取ります。妊娠届出書には、出産予定日（子どもが生まれる予定の日）、妊娠の診断を受けた病院名などを書きます。

母子健康手帳は、妊婦と赤ちゃんの健康の状態を記録する手帳です。この手帳は、妊婦健診（子どもが生まれるまでの診察）や乳幼児健診（生まれた子どもの健康診断）、予防接種（病気にならないための注射）のときに病院に持って行きます。

他にも、妊婦健康診査費助成（妊娠してからの病院の診察料の支払いに使える助成券）や無料で歯の健康診査を受けることができる受診券をもらえます。

赤ちゃんが4か月、1歳6か月、3歳のときには、保健センターで、10か月のときは病院で、無料で健診を受けることができます。対象の人には、案内が郵送で届きます。

ポリオやBCGなど乳幼児の予防接種は、市内の予防接種ができる病院で、無料で受けることができます。対象の年齢や回数、予防接種ができる病院のことは、保健センター（0797-31-1586）に聞いてください。
