Ashiya Rock Garden

It is said that Ashiya Rock Garden is the first rock climbing course in Japan. The book Ashiya wo Aruku Hon “Ashiya” has pictures of cliffs, waterfalls on the rock climbing course as well as beautiful scenery seen from the course.

YODOKO Guest House

YODOKO Guest House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is a famous designated national cultural treasure.
At present, it is closed due to preservation repair work. It is scheduled to be open to the public in spring 2019. Although the interior cannot be seen until it reopens, this Ashiya guidebook has many beautiful pictures for you to see.

If you see a person with this tag on a train or bus, please give up your seat to them.

The “Help Mark” tag can be obtained free of charge at a counter at any of the following places.

Maternity Mark

The “Maternity Mark” is used to inform people that the person wearing it is pregnant. Please do not smoke if you are near a person wearing the mark, also, please give up your seat on a train or bus to a person wearing it. Please show consideration to the mother and child.

Beware of winter season infectious diseases

In the dry winter season, influenza and other infectious diseases become prevalent.
In order not to be infected, wash your hands, gargle and lead a regular healthy lifestyle.
If you have the following symptoms, please visit a clinic or hospital as soon as possible.

Influenza symptoms
High temperature (38ºC or higher), headache, general fatigue (having no energy or strength), muscular pain, pain in your joints, cough, runny nose, etc.

Infectious gastroenteritis (gastroenteritis caused by Norovirus, Rotavirus) symptoms
High temperature combined with diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting

The 30th Ashiya Autumn Festival

We will have processions with danjiri large wooden carts and outdoor stalls. Be sure to come along.

Notice regarding closure of City Office during the year-end and New Year holidays.

The City Hall and branch offices will be open until 5:30 p.m., Fri., December 28 at the end of the year, and will resume office duties from 9:00 a.m., Fri., January 4 at the beginning of the New Year. Since the counters at the city offices are very busy at the end of the year and beginning of the New Year, if you have business, please come as early as possible.
During the year-end/New Year office closure, notification of births and deaths are accepted at the City Hall’s security office.
Some counters are open on Sat., December 29. 

* Please check with the City Hall beforehand, because it may not be able to respond your request due to the closure of the related public offices and facilities.

* If you come to the City Office by car, please use the Citizens’ parking (South Wing, B2 Floor.).
