If you find damage on a road or play equipment at a park managed by Ashiya City, now you can report it to the city hall using LINE (messaging app). First, add Ashiya City as a friend.

How to add Ashiya City as a friend

  1. Install the LINE app on your smartphone and open it.
  2. On the “Add friends” screen, scan this 2-D code and press the “Add” button.

How to send a report

  1. Take a photo of the damage from up close, and another photo from a distance.
  2. On the “Chats” screen, select「芦屋市」(Ashiya City).
  3. Send the two photos and your location info or address.

* In an emergency, please call the city hall. (Phone: 0797-31-2121)
* This account is used to receive information about damage to roads and parks. Repairs are not guaranteed.
* We cannot reply to you.
* We will post summaries of repairs on the city website.
* You may send your report 24 hours a day, but the city hall can only check the account from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Are You Prepared for an Earthquake?

In a large earthquake, buildings could collapse, fires could break out, and electricity, gas, and water service could stop. A tsunami (tidal wave) could also occur. Evacuate to as high ground as possible when a tsunami warning is issued.

Pack the following items to take with you immediately when you evacuate:

  • Valuables (cash, personal stamp, bank book, passport, etc.)
  • Drinking water (in plastic bottles)
  • Food
  • Portable radio
  • Medicine, etc.
    *Prepare at least 3 days’ worth of food and drinking water, and 7 days’ worth if possible. 

Talk with your family about how to get in contact with each other and where to evacuate during a disaster.

Hyogo E-Net (Hyogo Emergency Net) sends out emergency information and evacuation information by email when an earthquake or tsunami occurs.
It is available in 12 languages other than Japanese: (Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese).

Tanizaki Junichiro Memorial Museum of Literature

Tanizaki Junichiro was a famous novelist who wrote "The Makioka Sisters" (Sasameyuki) and other famous works. His handwritten drafts and letters are on exhibit at this museum. Learn about Tanizaki Junichiro’s life and work.

The ceremony, “1.17 Ashiya City Prayer and Pledge” is going to take place to think about the deceased people in the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake and to pray.

  • Venue: In front of the “Monument to the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake Memorial and Restoration” (In Ashiya park, Hama-Ashiya-cho).
