Outline of Leed Ashiya
- Open Space 1 (with kitchen) 1st Floor
This space is available for everyone during opening hours.
You can hold events here (with usage fee).

- Printing Room 1st Floor
Printers are available for a fee. USB data can be used.

- Open Space 2 2nd Floor
Computers with Internet connection can be used for about 1 hour free of charge. Books on NPOs can also be borrowed

- Meeting Rooms 2nd Floor
Rooms for meetings, study or lectures are available for a fee (largest room capacity: 98 people).
Projector and screen can be borrowed free of charge.

Activities at Community Schools (Komisuku)

Komisuku is a place for local residents’ associations, PTAs and groups conducting cultural or sports activities to gather and interact independently. Its purpose is to create better community in the local area through these activities.
Activities
- Cultural activities: painting, calligraphy, choirs, pottery, English conversation, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, etc.
- Sports activities: soccer, baseball, basketball, mini-basketball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, futsal, pétanque, karate, table tennis, physical exercise, etc.
- Local exchange activities: summer festivals, autumn festivals, sports festivals, rice cake pounding events, etc.

Municipal elementary schools in Ashiya are used as the venues for these activities.
Anyone from child to adult can join in Komisuku in their elementary school district.

From October, Kindergarten and Child Daycare Center Fee Has Become Free of Charge
- Eligibility
・3–5 year-old children living in Ashiya City
・0–2 year-old children living in Ashiya City in families who are exempted from paying resident tax (do not need to pay resident tax)
Please note that expenses for events (outings) and meals/snacks must be paid.

Children attending certified child daycare centers/small-scale child daycare centers have no need for procedures.

- Born between April 2, 2014 and January 1, 2020

Guardians of foreign children who attend foreign schools in Japan (schools equivalent to elementary/junior high schools) who meet both 1 and 2 of the qualifications below
- Living in Ashiya City as of October 1, 2019

Do You Know About Night-Time Junior High School?

- About night-time junior high school
・People who could not receive compulsory education, or foreign people who did not finish compulsory education in their own country can attend classes.
・It is public junior high school.
・No school fees are required. Textbooks are provided.
・You can learn hiragana and arithmetic (calculation), and so on.
・Classes are held at night from Monday to Friday.
・If you complete all of the studies at this school, you will be qualified as junior high school graduate.

Shio-Ashiya Exchange Center
Shio-Ashiya Exchange Center consists of Shio-Ashiya Assembly Hall, International Exchange Center and Outdoor Exchange Plaza (tennis courts). Rooms and tennis courts are available to everyone.
The Center holds various activities as follows:
- Japanese lessons
- Cultural classes such as Sado(tea ceremony), Shodo(calligraphy) and Kado(flower arrangement)
- English conversation class
- Seminars, concerts and so on.
Shio-Ashiya Exchange Center is a consultation center for foreign people.
The Center also works as an evacuation site for people nearby when a disaster such as earthquake occurs.
